Roberto Giaquinto

Italian drummer Roberto Giaquinto started out his musical studies in Naples, Italy, with Lello Di Fenza and Luciano Nini. He soon started to perform around the city with local bands, playing jazz, rock, and blues.
After he moved to Rome he graduated in Jazz Arranging at the Licinio Refice Conservatory. In 2009 Giaquinto was awarded a full scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and he graduated with a degree in jazz performance. After he moved to Boston in 2010, he was selected to be a part of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, founded and led by artistic director and world-renowned pianist Danilo Perez, and with Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Dave Liebman, and Terri Lyne Carrington. Since coming to the States, Giaquinto has performed at the Blue Note NY, Birdland, Detroit Jazz Festival, Beantown Jazz Festival, Kimmel Center, Panama Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center, Regatta Bar, Scullers, Nancy Jazz Pulsation, Jazz en Comminges, Tbilisi State Conservatory among others with musicians like George Garzone, Chris Cheek, Ben Street, Dayna Stephens, John Patitucci, Matt Jodrell, Gilad Hekselman, Jason Palmer, Troy Roberts and many more.
He is currently involved in several groups in New York City such as the Mike Bono Group, Adison Evans Quintet, David Neves Group, Matthew Halpin Quartet, Christian Li Group, Daniel Rotem Trio, Radio Intro with Yakir Arbib , David Neves Group and he toured and conducted master classes in France, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, Italy, Georgia. Encouraged by his mentor Hal Crook, Roberto Giaquinto also formed his own project in which he plays his original compositions.
