Jared Henderson

Bassist Jared Henderson is from the small mountain town of Sisters, Oregon. He began playing bass at age 11, studying primarily with his father. The majority of his early music education came from playing gigs around his hometown. During high school Jared won many awards around the Pacific Northwest at local jazz festivals. Also during this time he attended numerous jazz workshops to help further his music education, which was otherwise unavailable in a rural setting. In 2009 Jared received a full tuition scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music. During his time at Berklee, Jared was a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute, an intensive honors program headed by renowned pianist Danilo Perez. Through this program Jared worked with some of the worlds leading musicians such as Brian Blade, Terri-Lyne Carrington, Ruben Blades, John Patitucci and Ben Street. Additionally, he studied with John Lockwood, Dave Santoro, and Hal Crook. After graduating Berklee in 2013 Jared moved to New York City to be a part of the city’s vibrant arts scene. Jared has performed with artists including Danilo Perez, Dave Liebman, Adam Cruz, Joe Lovano, Terrell Stafford, Julian Lage, Jason Palmer, Daniel Rotem, Justin Faulkner, Christian Li, and Mike Bono.
